Heavy Lungs
Formed in the spritely month of May 2017 in “the glorious capital of the world, Bristol UK”, Heavy Lungs have been on a relentless warpath of shred. The year 2025 sees the cannonball arrival of their eagerly awaited sophomore record ‘Caviar’. This sub thirty minute offering to the indifferent gods of rock was crafted in dark and dingy church rehearsals and overpriced house shares. Shrouded in cigarette smoke and lit only by candlelight and the judgemental glow of the open fridge, the four piece put the function into their charming dysfunction.
Motivated by the suffocating desire for fame and fortune, the Bristol foursome took no prisoners in their ambitious approach to recording. Tracking everything live to capture the raw intensity of their infamous, sweaty and cathartic live performances, the record seamlessly ascends as a worthy addition to their already heavy arsenal of sonic artillery. A strong run of furious eps released on Balley Records, all whilst performing alongside long term blood brothers IDLES, Oh Sees, Metz and causing irreparable tinnitus in the process. They are notoriously described as a loud band from Bristol, I said “A LOUD BAND FROM BRISTOL”.
2023 graced the public with a towering debut on Alcopop! Records which gained them favour from The Lord and Saviour Iggy Pop and across the BBC6 music airwaves. The Lungs then took this jackhammer of a record on the road through tolegates of Europe and potholes of the UK.
Heavy Lungs have now joined forces with FatCat Records to serve up a mouth watering buffet of 11 spicy tunes, with a replayability flavour so rich, you will want to loosen your belt and go back for seconds. Forget the small plates, this is ‘’Caviar”.
